For those that have been following my goings on regarding Wolf Creek IDPA etc. I am no longer maintaining the webpage, Facebook page (both have been deactivated) or other forms or actively posting match announcements on the various forums. The Wolf Creek October match was canceled, no word on if the November match is a go or not. I've been shooting with Central Iowa IDPA out of Ames/Boone. The Ames matches are a little less costly but have a lower round count than WC. If you haven't been getting Dan's emails regarding what's going on with Wolf Creek, let me know and I'll fill you in as best I can.
If you're looking for other places to shoot, the Illiowa Practical Shooters Forum as some good info.
Linn County IDPA is holding another classifier the first Weekend of November and I plan on making that match to finish out the season.

A Right Unexercised is a Right Lost....
Will never have the same ring to it again after this:
http://news.yahoo.com/calif-gov-enacts-ban-open-handgun-carrying-103104438.html
After open carry advocates began going out and promoting open carry (which in CA required "Conditon 4" Carry) the ninnies got scared and started crying about it. I've always been on the fence on open carry, I've done it a few times, and it's just never really fit my needs that well. In states where concealed carry is legal I see no reason to carry openly, that's just me. In CA however, the may issue system for permits to carry concealed is severely broken, worse than it was here in Iowa prior to shall issue and I can understand those open carrying in order to promote the absurdity of CA's laws regarding this.
Hopefully this will open the door for lawsuits regarding CA's stance on carry and the right to defend yourself abroad which may very well finally bring "The Carry Issue" to the Supreme Court should it have the opportunity to get there and be heard.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Gov. Jerry Brown's says he has signed a measure that bans the open carrying of handguns in California.
The law, AB144, makes it a misdemeanor to carry an exposed and unloaded gun in a public place.
The governor's office made the announcement in a statement early Monday morning. Brown has been rushing to sign dozens of measures sent to him by lawmakers.
Top California law enforcement officials supported the legislation.
The Los Angeles Times reports that Brown said he had "listened to the police chiefs."
Supporters say the only person who knows whether the gun is loaded is the person carrying the gun. Opponents say the bill is one of many assaults on the public's Second Amendment rights.
